Chaplin wasn’t an atheist. He was raised Baptist and he said he didn’t believe nor disbelieve in anything.

Charlie Chaplin was Anglican, he was baptized into the Church of England: but did not for most of his life follow the Church of England.

In Charlie Chaplin Jr’s  book, My Father, Charlie Chaplin, (pp. 239-240) he recalls his father stating:
“I’m not an atheist,” I can remember him saying on more than one occasion. “I’m definitely an agnostic. Some scientists say that if the world were to stop revolving we’d all disintegrate. But the world keeps on going. Something must be holding us all in place—some Supreme Force. But what it is I couldn’t tell you.

Night Of The Living Dead (1968)
After a zombie attack, Ben pulls a board off the right corner of the door, and reveals the words “Upper Right Corner” written on the underside. I guess the props department didn’t know where the cameras were going to be located.
